Metairie Properties is locally owned and operated commercial properties management company with properties located throughout Metairie and Greater New Orleans.
The Richmond Family has been in the real estate business for over fifty years, and are the owners and managers of Metairie Properties.
Metairie is the first suburb of New Orleans, Louisiana, located on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain between the cities of New Orleans, home to the French Quarter, Superdome, Aquarium, Zoo and Convention Center, and Kenner, where the New Orleans International Airport, Rivertown, and the Pontchartrain Center are located.
Metairie is the French term for a small tenant farm, which paid the landlord with a share of the produce (sharecropping). In the 1760’s, many of the original French farmers were tenants, but after the American Civil War, the majority of the community’s inhabitants were sharecroppers until urbanization started in the 1910’s.
